Compton Sheriff's Station, The County of Los Angeles, the City of Compton and Target Corporation partnered again for this year's National Night Out celebration! 2013 marked the 30th Anniversary of National Night Out since the National Association of Town Watch launched the program in 1984. National Night Out is an annual event that brings local communities and law enforcement together to send a message of unity and partnership in the stand against crime to make the city of Compton a safer place to live. This year, the event was kicked off with the introduction of Compton Station's newly promoted captain, Leonard McCray, and newly elected Compton Mayor, Aja Brown. The entire Compton City Council was also represented. California State Senator Roderick Wright, 35th State Senate District, was also on hand to present the Target Corporation and KJLH DJ Roc with a certificate of appreciation. The night continued on with fun, food, festivities and was visible sign of the strength of the entire community!
