Palmdale Detectives are seeking the public's help in identifying an armed robbery suspect that held up a gas station last night.
The incident occurred around 10:30 PM Monday night when an employee of the "USA Mini Mart" (38821 10th Street West, Palmdale) called Palmdale Station to inform them they had just been robbed. The victims relayed to detectives that a Black male wearing a ski mask, grey hooded sweatshirt, and grey shorts entered the empty location and produced a silver handgun. The suspect approached a clerk behind the register and began demanding they open the register and empty the contents into the backpack he provided.
The clerk complied with the suspect's orders and was then forcibly led outside the store and into the store's stock room through an exterior door. The suspect then forced the clerk, along with an additional employee who was working in the stock room, onto the floor and demanded they turn over their wallets.
The suspect led the store clerk back into the public area of the gas station where he rummaged through the register one more time before fleeing the location. The victims told detectives the suspect left the location on foot northbound on 10th Street West. The suspect is described as a 20 to 30 year old Black male. He is approximately 6'0" and weighs around 200lbs. He is described as being muscular and during the time of the robbery was wearing a grey hooded sweatshirt and grey sweat shorts with black stripes.
