This holiday season, more and more people will be doing their shopping online. In order to educate the public on how best to protect their personal and financial information while they do their online shopping, Cerritos Station is hosting a "Cyber Security/Identity Theft Webcast & Interactive Blog" in collaboration with the LASD Cyber Crimes Bureau, along with the U.S. Postal Inspector's Office, and the United States Secret Service.
The event will be held at Liberty Park, located at 19211 Studebaker Road, Cerritos in the Washington Room, and is open to the public for those who want to attend in person. It will also be streamed live over the internet at http://live.lasd.org .
The topics that will be discussed are:
How to protect your personal information, and avoid becoming a victim of identity theft
How to encrypt your computer data to prevent being compromised by hackers
How to recognize attempts by criminals to steal your personal information
Protect your families against predators using social media
Keep your families safe while shopping during the holidays at the Mall, and on the internet
