16 Teens Arrested After Breaking Into La Habra Heights Home, Rave Party, $1 Million Loss

Industry Sheriff's Station Detectives Arrest 16 Individuals in Connection with Burglary and Vandalism Charges, Estimated $1 Million Dollars in Loss Recovered items include Mounted Snow Leopard



On Wednesday, December 11, 2013, Los Angeles County Sheriff Lee Baca, Industry Sheriff's Captain Timothy Murakami and Detectives held a press conference at Industry Sheriff's Station to discuss an extensive two week investigation that lead to the arrest of 16 individuals.



Between Saturday, November 23, 2013, and Sunday, November 24, 2013, from 4:00 p.m. to 9:00 a.m., unbeknownst to the owner, numerous individuals attended a party at a residence in the 1700 Block of Chota Road in the city of La Habra Heights.



The party was advertised on social media with over 100 people in attendance. During this period, several of the party-goers burglarized and vandalized the residence. The combined loss and damages were estimated at an excess of one million dollars.



After the two week investigation by Industry Station detectives, several juveniles and an adult, from neighboring communities were identified as potential suspects to either the burglary and/or the vandalism.



On Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at approximately 6:00 a.m. four search warrants and eight Ramey arrest warrants were severed throughout the unincorporated Whittier county area and the cities of La Habra and Whittier. The respective warrants resulted in the recovery of stolen items, ranging from designer clothing, art affects, electronics and even a mounted Snow Leopard.



These search warrants resulted in the arrest of 16 individuals. Three 18-year-old male adults;

Nickolas Koontz, resident of La Habra Heights,

Kevin Larios, resident of La Habra and

Andres Uribe, resident of La Habra, and



13 Juveniles were booked at Industry Sheriff's Station for various crimes including Burglary, Grand Theft and Trespassing. The ages of the Juveniles range from 15 years old to 17 years old.
