On Thursday, March 6, 2014, deputies from the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station Crime Prevention Unit (CPU), along with deputies assigned to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Crime Impact Team (CIT), patrol, detective bureau, and the Special Assignment Team (SAT) conducted a multiple location large scale parole / probation compliance operation during the early morning hours. All of the locations were in the Canyon Country area inside the City of Santa Clarita limits.
This operation is part of the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff Station's ongoing proactive efforts to ensure that convicted criminals living in the Santa Clarita Valley including within the city limits and the unincorporated areas are in compliance with the terms and conditions of their probation after release from jail.
Deputies responded to approximately fifteen different locations during this morning's operation. At the conclusion of the operation the following people (all residents of Canyon Country) were placed under arrest:
A 24 year old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, narcotics paraphernalia, and a probation violation on the 18200 block of Flynn Drive.
A 54 year old male and a 49 year old female were arrested for cultivation of marijuana. Deputies discovered an approximately seventy five plant marijuana grow along with a THC laboratory on the 27600 block of Hermes Lane.
A 31 year old male was arrest for possession of burglary tools and a probation violation on the 27500 block of Bernina Avenue.
A 29 year old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance on the 18500 block of Soledad Canyon Road.
A 36-year-old male was arrested for a weapons violation along with a probation violation on the 18500 block of Soledad canyon Road.
A 24-year-old male was arrested for possession of concentrated cannabis along with a probation violation on the 27500 block of Sierra Highway.
A 33-year-old male was arrested for possession of a controlled substance along with possession of narcotics paraphernalia on the 28100 block of Hot Springs Avenue.
A 24 year old male was arrest re: flash incarceration on the 19000 block of Lonerock Street.
These types of operations and others just like it will continue throughout the year to ensure that convicted criminals remain in compliance. Criminals who choose to break the law and are caught will be arrested.
It is the goal of all deputies working in the Santa Clarita Valley to send a loud and clear message to criminals, "Commit Crime? - Not in the Santa Clarita Valley!"
