Report for Reward - See Something, Say Something

See Something -Say Something

In the City of Diamond Bar, a recent program was established to reward those who provide information leading to the identification and arrest of any person who willfully damages or destroys any real or personal property. The "Report for Reward" program went into effect on November 15, 2013 after the Diamond Bar City Council enacted Municipal Code Section 9.02.010 on October 1, 2013.

According to city documents, the Report for Reward program was developed as a way to combat residential and vehicular burglaries within the city limits. The program offers a financial incentive of up to $500.00 for information leading to the arrest of person(s) suspected of committing these crimes. To be eligible for the Report for Reward program, the person must call the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff station at (909)595-2264 (or 9-1-1 if the crime is in progress) and provide information leading to the arrest of a person suspected of damaging personal property as a result of committing or attempting to commit a residential or vehicular burglary.

The Report for Reward program produced immediate results as four residents were awarded $500.00 each at the December 17, 2013, Diamond Bar City Council meeting.

More information about the program, including answers to frequently-asked questions, is available on the City of Diamond Bar website www.diamondbarca.gov/RFR.
