Meet the Sheriff Day Brings Preschoolers to Walnut City Library

On Friday, May 16, 2014, local children got to know deputies and volunteers from the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff Station. Members of the Rowland Heights and Walnut City Community Relations Units presented a Meet the Sheriff's Day at the Walnut City Library. The event was attended by approximately 25 preschool age children from the Walnut Valley area.

Throughout the day, station personnel read stories to the children and sang songs. The children were able to tour the inside of a patrol car, receive an explanation of the computer system and hear the siren sound. After the tour, station personnel spent the remainder of the day making crafts and interacting with the children. The presentation was well received by the children and library staff.
