The Anti-Defamation League Will Honor Law Enforcement Officers w/ the Distinguished Sherwood Prize



The Anti-Defamation League will honor law enforcement officers, including FBI Agents assigned to civil rights investigations in Los Angeles, with the distinguished Sherwood Prize on Tuesday, March 11th at the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles. The Sherwood Prize was created in 1996 by Joe and Helene Sherwood to recognize those in the law enforcement community who combat extremism, bigotry, and hatred. Police, sheriffs and prosecutors in Los Angeles, Ventura and Santa Barbara counties, as well as the United States Attorney's Office will also receive the Sherwood Prize.



The FBI agents receiving the award will be recognized for their roles in the investigation of defendants associated with a Compton street gang who were sentenced to federal prison last month after pleading guilty to federal hate crime charges. The charges stemmed from a racially motivated attack on African-American juveniles. See details at below links to U.S. Attorney's Office press releases:
