Carson Sheriff’s Station Detectives Track Down and Recover $300,000 Worth of High-End Meat.

12/04/2014

On Thursday, December 4, 2014, at 7:00 a.m., Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department (LASD) Carson Sheriff's Station detectives executed a search warrant at a cold storage facility in the 2000 block of Imperial Street, in the city of Los Angeles. The search warrant was part of an investigation that began on December 2, 2014, when a company called "Lamb Cooperative Inc" reported a stolen shipment of high-end beef steak, leg-of-lamb, rack-of-lamb, and other expensive meat. The wholesale value of the stolen meat shipment was valued at approximately $300,000.00.

Carson Station detectives worked diligently and tirelessly to gather reliable information in order to locate the suspect(s) and the stolen meat at two different locations. Ultimately, 1,531 cases of the stolen meat (more than 90% of what was reported) was recovered. Detectives extended a "Tradition of Service" by picking up hundreds of cases of meat, and loading them on pallets, by hand.

The investigation is on-going and additional information is being received.
