Death Investigation, 900 BLK West Carson St, Unincorporated Torrance

Los Angeles County Sheriff's Homicide detectives have confirmed that the death of the 17 year-old male that occurred on Monday, February 16, 2015 was the result of a "Russian roulette" game.



The investigation has revealed that the 17 year-old produced a .38 Special Revolver and stated he was going to play "Russian roulette." Against the pleading of two minors who were also present inside the 17 year-old's apartment bedroom, telling him not to do it, the 17 year-old, while holding the gun, shot himself one time in the head.



The 17 year-old, who was living with his older brother and the brother's wife at the time, was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.



The weapon was recovered at the scene. Additional information about the weapon is still under investigation.



The death has been ruled an accidental death.

Sheriff's Homicide detectives are continuing their investigation into the death of a 17 year-old male in the 900 block of West Carson Street, Unincorporated Torrance.



Detectives have learned that deputies from Carson Station responded to the location regarding a gunshot call. When they arrived, they located a male with an apparent gunshot wound.



The victim was transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead.



Detectives have not surmised the events that led up to the victim's death. The investigation is still on-going.



There is no further information at this time.
