Lancaster Runners Win Baker to Vegas Race

For the second consecutive year, the Lancaster Station Baker to Vegas Team placed 1st in the Invitational Station Category at the 31st Annual Baker to Vegas Challenge Cup Relay. The team consisted of Lancaster Station Deputies running 120 miles from Baker, California to Las Vegas, Nevada. It's a continuous race which consisted of 20 stages of various distances with the longest being 10.7 miles. Thirty-three additional support staff helped to support the runners with rides to their stages, follow the runners for safety, and provide water and encouragement.

The event was held on March 28th and ended at 10 a.m. March 29th. The day-time temperature was as hot as 101 degrees. This international event had 262 teams from as far as Sydney, Australia and was strictly open to only law enforcement. Congrats to the Champs again. Good luck next year!!
