Motorist Collides With Tree

On Sunday, April 29, 2012, at 00:27 A.M., Cerritos Station deputies responded to Bloomfield Avenue & Del Amo Boulevard regarding a vehicle vs. tree traffic collision. The investigation revealed the driver, MW/30, a resident of Lakewood collided with the center divider causing his vehicle to roll and hit a city bus bench. He was ejected from the vehicle during the collision and suffered major injuries. He was transported to Long Beach Memorial Hospital for treatment of his injuries. Three other occupants of the vehicle received minor injuries not requiring medical treatment. Preliminary investigation revealed that alcohol was a factor in the collision. The driver was not arrested for D.U.I. due to the nature of his injuries. City of Cerritos, Public Works was notified and city workers responded to clean up the debris left from the collision.
