Suspect Arrested With Stolen Passports

On June 28, 2012, at approximately 1:10 am, West Hollywood deputies arrested S/Mason for (Reasonable Cause) Receiving Stolen Property at 945 La Jolla Av. S/Mason was in possession of a Brazilian Passport in the name of "Fernanda Matias Peres" and a Brazilian Police Identification Card and Badge in the name of "Cassio Alberto Condi Garcia."



During the subsequent investigation by Detective Bureau, it was learned the above items were inside a piece of luggage belonging to the above mentioned Brazilian Citizens. Upon arriving at their Hotel in the City of Hollywood, their luggage arrived except for one piece, which contained their passports and other miscellaneous personal items. The suspect stated he found the items in a trash dumpster. Due to the recovered items being the property of the Brazilian Government, detectives contacted the Brazilian Consulate and released the items to their custody on 6-28-12. The property was ultimately returned to the victims who were returning to Brazil.
