A disturbance call resulted in the arrest of 3 Juveniles believed to be involved in a "Burglary Ring"
Lancaster Station received a call of a "disturbance" at a gas station located at 5th Street East and Avenue K in the city of Lancaster Tuesday (08-14-12) evening. When the deputies arrived, they detained three Juveniles who were responsible for the disturbance.
During the detention, the deputies quickly realized that the trio matched the description of three suspects who had committed a burglary a few hours earlier. During a search of the Juveniles, the deputies found several pieces of jewelry and other items that had been reported stolen during the earlier burglary. All three Juveniles were arrested and taken to Lancaster Station, and the case was immediately assigned to Lancaster Station's Burglary Suppression Team.
On Wednesday morning, the team obtained search warrants for each of the Juvenile's homes. During the search of the homes, the team recovered a large amount of stolen electronic items including, computers, game systems, televisions and DVD players. The stolen property was valued at approximately thirty thousand dollars.
The investigation is ongoing, but so far, The Burglary Suppression Team has been able to link some of the stolen items to five recent residential burglaries and believe the three Juveniles may be responsible for as many as ten burglaries in the city of Lancaster.
