On October 8, 2012, witnesses saw three juveniles walking out from a side yard of a residence on the 24600 block of Falena Avenue. The juveniles were carrying property they had just stolen from the residence. When witnesses shouted out to the juveniles, all three ran away carrying the stolen property with them.
The witnesses immediately called the Lomita Sheriff's Station to report the crime. Numerous patrol units and a Department helicopter responded and subsequently arrested all three juveniles who were found to have numerous items of stolen property in their possession. Not only did the juveniles possess stolen property from the original location, but they were found to have property stolen from two other locations in the city of Lomita. Additionally, there was an attempted burglary in the nearby area the juveniles were believed to have committed as well. Along with the burglaries in the city of Lomita, the juveniles are suspected of committing similar crimes in the cities of Los Angeles and Torrance. The investigation is continuing.
All three juveniles were booked at Lomita Station and then transported to Los Padrinos Juvenile Hall. They will be arraigned on October 10, 2012, at Los Padrinos Court. They are all being charged with residential burglary. All the property recovered from the juveniles were released to their rightful owners.
