12 Gauge Sawed Off Shotgun

Operation Safe Streets Bureau (OSS) gang investigators assigned to the Compton Sheriff's Station received an anonymous tip that a local gang member was attempting to sell a firearm.

Members of the team set up a surveillance of the suspect who was seen leaving the area in a vehicle at which time he was stopped for traffic violations. During the traffic stop, a sawed-off 12 gauge shotgun was recovered from his possession without incident. The suspect was booked on felony weapons charges and is held in lieu of 25 thousand dollars bail.

The name of the suspect is being withheld pending further investigation.
