Compton deputies pursue motorcycle and arrest felon with a sawed-off rifle.

Compton Sheriff's Station deputies continue to reduce gun/gang violence through proactive law enforcement.

On March 14, 2013, at approximately 6:02pm hours, Compton deputies pursued a flagrantly reckless DUI motorcyclist. The suspect drove up the wash along Wilmington Avenue and escaped.

The deputies later recovered the motorcycle, but the driver had abandoned it and escaped. The deputies were attempting to locate the suspect when they contacted another male. They arrested him for illegally possessing a sawed-off semi-automatic rifle. The suspect was a previously convicted felon.

The motorcycle was possibly stolen from an address in the city of Compton. Investigators are still searching for the suspect.

Compton Sheriff's Station continues to provide safety for the citizens and community we serve.
