Temple Sheriff’s Deputies volunteer at Tip-a-Cop event to raise money for the Special Olympics of Southern California



Temple Sheriff Station participated in two Tip-A-Cop events recently. The money raised from these events help sponsor Special Olympic athletes at the upcoming Special Olympics Summer Games at Cal State Long Beach on June 8th and 9th. Deputies volunteering their time assisted restaurant wait staff in serving customers to raise donations. 100% of the tax deductible "tips" earned by the deputies goes straight to the Special Olympics of Southern California



The first event was held at Clearman's North Woods Inn in North San Gabriel. This is the third year Temple Station has held an event at that location. With the assistance of deputies from Mens Central Jail, $1,200 was raised. The second event was held at Claim Jumper in the city of Monrovia. With the assistance of police officers from the Monrovia Police Department, $3,700 was raised. Temple station has participated at this location for eight years.
