Santa Clarita COPS Team Recover Stolen Property

The Santa Clarita COPS Team arrested a male suspect on the suspicion he was in possession of stolen property. While conducting a traffic stop in the Newhall area, deputies discovered an outstanding warrant for the suspect's arrest.



After arresting the male for the warrant, deputies conducted an inventory search of his vehicle where they found several power tools, a cell phone and bulk copper wiring. Recalling recent thefts in the area involving similar types of items, and the lack of a plausible explanation on how he obtained the property, the deputies additionally charged him with Reasonable Cause Receiving Stolen Property.



Investigators later determined the suspect was wanted for questioning regarding several recent copper thefts and an arson incident occurring at local businesses.
