Lomita Station Unveils New Mobile Command Post



On Thursday, September 5, 2013, Lomita Sheriff's Station unveiled its new Emergency Command Post Trailer, which was purchased by the contract cities of Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills Estates, and Rolling Hills.



The 26-foot Cargomate "Eliminator" trailer comes equipped with a 5500 watt generator, full bathroom, briefing room, two air conditioning units, awnings on both sides, exterior flood lighting, fold down rear access ramp, pass through service window on the side, external weatherproof enclosure, and room for a 3 person workstation. It will serve as a command post during emergencies, enhancing the ability of Lomita Station deputies to carry out their public safety mission in the most efficient and effective manner possible. The total cost of the trailer was approximately $40,000.



Lomita Sheriff's Station polices the cities of Lomita, Rancho Palos Verdes, Rolling Hills, and Rolling Hills Estates, as well as the unincorporated communities of Academy Hill, La Rambla, Palos Verdes Peninsula, and Westfield.



Captain Blaine Bolin hosted the presentation, which was attended by members of the community, city officials, emergency operations experts, and members of the press.
