On March 12, 2014, Los Angeles County Pico Rivera Sheriff's deputies charged Miguel Robago and Javier Villagrana with 13 counts of burglary, 3 counts of receiving stolen, 3 counts of possession of methamphetamine, and gang enhancements. In addition, Connie Aguilar was charged with 1 count of receiving stolen property and 1 count of possession of methamphetamine.
Suspect Robago, a 38-year-old South Gate resident, was booked at Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station in lieu of 340,000 dollars bail. Suspect Villagrana, a 43-year-old Compton resident, was booked at Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station in lieu of 370,000 dollars bail. Suspect Aguilar, a 36-year-old Compton resident, was booked at Pico Rivera Sheriff's Station in lieu of 30,000 bail
Detectives have been investigating on-going burglaries at the "Extra Space Storage" facility that have totaled more than 50, with an estimated loss of over $130,000, in a period of three months.
The suspects used bolt cutters to cut the locks on the storage units. Both suspects were captured on video surveillance committing multiple burglaries. Numerous items of stolen property were recovered during search warrants at their residences. The suspects are believed to be responsible for additional storage unit burglaries in Whittier, Compton, Monterey Park and surrounding areas.
