Education Based Incarceration is part of the pathway to "Creating a Life Worth Living."

04/17/2014

The West Hollywood Sheriff's Station is one of three stations in the North Region to implement the MERIT Program. This program, Maximizing Education Reaching Individual Transformation, one of the elements of LASD's Education Based Incarceration, provides life skills to those in jails. As part of prisoner rehabilitation, we are creating an educational environment for the inmates.

Our partners in this endeavor, be it the Community Based Organizations, Faith Based Organizations, contracted education/ life skills professionals, Community College interns, Charter Schools, community volunteers and others, have all given us tremendous momentum as we move forward toward an exciting future.
