Fallen West Hollywood Deputy Remembered

The personnel of the West Hollywood Sheriff's Station mourn the loss of West Hollywood Reserve Deputy Lloyd Constantine; the first West Hollywood deputy killed in the line of duty fifty years ago.



On June 24, 1964, Reserve Deputy Lloyd Constantine and Deputy Claude Rosenthal were driving their patrol vehicle eastbound on Santa Monica Boulevard at Laurel Avenue. A drunk driver failed to stop at a stop sign and broadsided their vehicle causing it to turn over onto the sidewalk. Reserve Deputy Constantine died as a result of his injuries. Reserve Deputy Lloyd Constantine was the first West Hollywood deputy killed in the line of duty. He died on his 42nd birthday.
