Folsom Project and eyeglass refurbishing

April 27, 2017

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's Inmate Services

Bureau and Lions Club International developed a community

partnership in 2010 bringing the Folsom Project and eyeglass

refurbishing to Twin Towers Correctional Facility.

On April 27, 2017, a portion of the ADA population housed at

Twin Towers Correctional Facility have been trained to use

calibration machines to diagnose the lenses' exact prescription

so that they may be matched with a member of the community

needing corrective vision.

Before being calibrated the inmates' then sort, clean and repair

the glasses. Inmate Services Bureau along with members from

the Lions Club is proud to carry on the tradition of serving and

reinvesting back into the community.

Questions about the Folsom Project at TTCF can be directed

to EBI Officer Troy Fleischer and Cynthia Murphy.
