Muslim Community Affairs Unit Presents at the National Sheriff's Association Winter Conference January 5, 2010 - Palm Desert, CA Deputies from the Muslim Community Affairs Unit presented a "Why Develop a Muslim Community Outreach Program" seminar at the National Sheriff's Association winter conference in Palm Desert, CA. In attendance were over 500 Sheriffs, command staff, deputies, and civilian employees from Sheriff's Departments across the United States.

The Muslim Community Affairs unit was available in the exhibition hall where they met with law enforcement professionals in attendance. They provided their expertise in working with the Muslim community as well as provided assistance on how to develop an outreach program in their respective organizations and communities.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department booth also provided general information about the LASD including "Public Trust Policing," "Police Diplomacy: A Global Trust," and "A Decade of Leadership" booklets.

Captain Michael Parker, Sheriff's Headquarters Bureau, also presented "Marketing your Sheriff's Office" to conference attendees.
