Jail Enterprises Unit Catalog and Customer Base

The Jail Enterprises Unit offers a number of unique products and services that are made available through the inmate vocational shops at Pitchess Detention Center.



The Jail Enterprises Unit works with the inmate vocational training programs to provide appropriate occupational and workplace skills to inmates, create departmental cost savings, and create new revenue streams to support the job training programs.



Jail Enterprises makes efficient use of tax dollars by selling only to:

Government Agencies located within Los Angeles County

Non-Profit Organizations organized under 501(c)3

County Employees

LA County Departments



We do not compete with private industry, thus we do not sell to the public.



Revenues generated from the products and services sold are deposited into the Inmate Welfare Fund and are utilized on these inmate programs and services. The Inmate Welfare Fund is overseen by the Inmate Welfare Commission.



Services such as our Bike Shop, Pet Grooming Shop, and Nursery are located within the Pitchess Detention Center. Only Department members or those who have a Department approved background check are permitted to enter the facility for these services.
