EBI's Veteran Program

The Veteran's program is a component of the Education Based Incarceration Bureau, and focuses on military veterans within the Los Angeles County Jail system. The program provides training related to life skills, anger management, drug education, occupational search, and GED. The newly formed "Life Development Program" teaches veterans relationship skills and provides a goal setting system to achieve success.

The course is administered by an Education Based Incarceration instructor and outside organizations such as, the Veterans Administration, Walden House, Volunteers of America, and The Salvation Army. This is an interactive program with participants which provides them with various benefits to which they are entitled as veterans, both in and out of jail.

Classes are conducted Monday through Friday, excluding school district holidays, and are held at North County Correctional Facility (NCCF). The current average attendance is 52. EBI is continuing in efforts to expand this program to qualified inmates.

The course runs six weeks, and culminates with a graduation ceremony, during which participants receive a certificate.
