Counterfeit Cigarette Arrest in Los Angeles

After several months of investigation, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department CAPE (COUNTERFEIT AND PIRACY ENFORCEMENT) Team members, along with agents from the Board of Equalization and investigators from Investigative Consultants conducted a multi-location cigarette inspection in the City of Los Angeles.



The CAPE Team seized a large amount of counterfeit, untaxed, and falsely stamped cigarettes. The owner was arrested for numerous Business and Professions code violations regarding the sale of tobacco products.
