While on patrol, a Compton CSU deputy conducted a traffic stop of a male gang member driving a vehicle in the city of Compton for vehicle code violation(s). During the stop it was determined the driver was not in possession of valid identification or a driver's license and was subsequently detained. During the detainment, the deputy found a loaded .357, blue steel, revolver. The driver was taken into custody and the firearm was recovered and booked into evidence.
