Deputies assigned to the Lancaster Community Appreciation Program LANCAP team, conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of East Lancaster Blvd. around 9PM last Friday (August 17,2012)
The car was being driven by 37 year old Christopher Delgado. Delgado is a known gang member and also a suspected drug trafficker. During the stop, deputies discovered that Delgado's passenger, 34 year old Angie Zaldivar was in possession of Vicodin pills and a "credit card skimmer ". Suspecting the pair may be involved in "identity theft", the deputies obtained a search warrant for their apartment which is located in the 300 block of East Lancaster Blvd.
During the search of the apartment, the deputies found a hidden compartment located in the floor of the master bedroom closet. Inside the compartment, they found two plastic bags of "Crystal Meth", a loaded 9MM semi- automatic handgun and a large amount of cash. Deputies found additional bags and plastic containers of methamphetamine hidden in other areas of the apartment. In all, Deputies seized over three pounds of crystal methamphetamine, one handgun and over seven thousand dollars in cash. The "uncut" or pure methamphetamine the deputies found holds an estimated "wholesale" value of approximately thirty three thousand dollars and could have potentially been divided into thousands of individual packages and sold on our streets.
Both suspects were arrested for narcotics violations and are currently awaiting court hearings.
