The Administrative Support Unit assists the Operations staff with composing and proofreading correspondence for SHB and the Office of the Sheriff. They are responsible for the distribution of Department-related news articles to all executives and units, and formatting and disseminating press advisories and news releases to Department executives, personnel and the media. They format, finalize and distribute promotional bios, Sheriff's Bulletins, Unit Commanders' Letters, and Leadership Messages from the Sheriff. They proofread and format Department publications, such as the annual "Year in Review" and Los Angeles County directories. They coordinate the fundraising efforts for March of Dimes, representing the Department, and also assist the Special Events and Award Programs units with ceremonies and large events.
