Orientation & Application Information



ORIENTATION MEETINGS: TIMES & PLACES

You must attend an orientation meeting in order to start your Reserve application process. At the meeting you will view an informative video presentation, and there will be a short presentation covering:

> The application process and timeline

> What you need to know to successfully complete the application

> What you need to do before entering the academy

> What you can expect while at the academy

> Graduation

> What to expect when you reach your station



There are monthly recruiting meetings at the following locations:

Lancaster Sheriff's Station

Lomita Sheriff's Station

If you have read and understand all of the information regarding the Reserve Program, you are of good moral character, and if you can live by the Core Values, please fully complete the Reserve Application provided through the link below. Please read these instructions carefully.

The application is in PDF format and is not savable. If you would like to keep a copy for your records, you must print out your form.

> All applicants should be prepared to take a "Reserve Deputy Sheriff Exam." A study guide can be found here: http://shq.lasdnews.net/content/uoa/RFB/LASD_StudyGuide.pdf

> Following the Exam (provided the applicant passes the exam) applicants should be prepared to take an "oral interview."

> All applicants that are interested in becoming a Reserve are encouraged to attend an orientation meeting, which covers many aspects of the application process.
