The arrests and the investigation are being handled by Industry Sheriff's Station Special Assignment Team, Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
At about 10:30AM, Thursday, May 12, 2011, deputies served a search warrant in the 130 block of 8th Avenue, Bassett. Deputies discovered three indoor marijuana grows and seized approximately 1,900 marijuana plants in various stages of growth.
The service of the search warrant stemmed from information gathered following a four week-long undercover operation. Suspicious activity at the location led sheriff's Special Assignment Team deputies to secure search warrants for three small warehouses at the location each containing a marijuana grow.
Four occupants at the location were detained and arrested at Industry Sheriff's Station for Marijuana Cultivation.
They are being identified as 39year-old Colby Kelly, a male White resident of Santa Ana, 39-year-old Alfred Serrato, a male Hispanic resident of Tustin, 27-yr-old Brandon Roberto, male Hispanic resident of Aliso Viejo, and 35-year-old Theodoro Castro, male Hispanic resident of Rowland Heights.
The combined total of the estimated street value of the seized marijuana was $2 million.
