East Los Angeles station had another successful year for our toy give-away. This year, we had approximately nine hundred people walk through our doors and six hundred toys were given away. Along with the toys, we had family photos with Santa Claus, sledding on real snow, a children's air jumper, cotton candy, and popcorn for all in attendance.
This event brought smiles to the families receiving the gifts as well as the volunteers who worked it. Captain Wolak and his generous family handed out toys to all the children. The station also utilized our crime prevention team, reserve cadre, station volunteers, explorers, and community members to help facilitate this big event. Without them, our station would not be able to produce such a smooth running toy drive.
The station would like to especially thank all the businesses and citizens who donated toys. They truly made a Merry Christmas for the families in our community.
