Carson Sheriff’s Station Support FoundationThe CSSSF is a community-based support foundation organized through local sponsorships for the purpose of promoting community wellbeing. In addition, the CSSSF actively engages in fundraising to enhance the daily operations of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department in the City of Carson.
Community Advisory Committee The CAC is a community-based committee representing the unincorporated County areas served by Carson Sheriff’s Station. They work together to provide the Sheriff’s Department with local concerns and issues related to public safety in order to promote a true partnership between the community and law enforcement.
Gang Diversion TeamThe program is a collaboration of law enforcement and individual community based organizations that have been hand selected due to their reputations, credentials, and reliability. The GDT develops intervention plans to assist gang members and their families in the greater Carson area who are serious about breaking the destructive cycle of the gang lifestyle. These services are provided free of charge and target individuals whose behavior leads to crimes that negatively impact the community.
Become a VolunteerVolunteers are people who give “freely” of their time. Volunteers enjoy the satisfaction of providing worthwhile enhancement to Carson Sheriff’s Station personnel and their community. They do not have peace officer powers and they may not carry a weapon at any time.
Become An ExplorerDeputy Explorers are youth volunteers who assist Deputy Sheriff’s by performing nonhazardous duties such as report writing, public fingerprinting, anti-crime campaigns, search missions, statistical computations and crowd assistance at parades and civic events.
Become A ReserveReserve Deputy Sheriffs are utilized to supplement the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department's law enforcement manpower. Like Full-time Deputies, Reserve Deputies are professionally trained and duly sworn law enforcement personnel. In most cases, Reserves are assigned to the same duties as Full-time Deputies. Since Reserve Deputies have the same powers of arrest as Full-time Deputies they are required by law to meet the same hiring, background, medical and psychological standards as Full-time Deputies.
