Off Duty LASD Lancaster Station Deputy Nabs Burglar In The Act
An off duty Lancaster Deputy detained a 14 year old burglary suspect early Tuesday morning, after seeing the suspect enter "Grandma's Thrift Store" located in the 44500 block of 10th Street west in the city of Lancaster.
The off duty deputy, who was on his way to Lancaster Station to begin his dayshift patrol assignment, noticed that the suspect was standing near the front door of the Thrift Store, he also noticed that the glass in the door had been smashed. As the deputy drove past, he saw the suspect enter the store through the now open door frame. The deputy immediately turned his car around and drove back to the store, and detained the suspect, who was still inside.
The suspect was arrested and booked at Lancaster Station. He was later transferred to a juvenile facility in the San Fernando Valley, where he is being held without bail. He is facing commercial burglary charges.
