Parks Bureau Drives Golf Course Burglar to County Jail

Parks Bureau detectives from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department investigated the burglary of the Whittier Narrows Golf Course (8640 East Rush Street, Rosemead, 91770). Cash, golf equipment and clothing items valued over a thousand dollars were found to be missing with no signs of a break-in. The golf course supervisor checked the security camera video and found that Robert Savarino, Male, 34 years-of-age, resident of Whittier was the burglar. Mr. Savarino, who had been an employee of the Golf Course for nearly two years, had just been suspended that day for discrepancies in his cash register.

Deputies from the Parks Bureau Special Problems Team located Mr. Savarino on April 9, 2013. He was arrested for Burglary and booked at the Sheriff's Inmate Reception Center. He was subsequently released on bond.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Departments Parks Bureau is dedicated to providing a safe and drug free environment at all Los Angeles County Parks.
