06-12-13

Altadena Sheriff's Station hosted a muti-agency Active Shooter training at Eliot Middle School today.

Altadena Station hosted an multi-agency Active Shooter training on the campus of James Eliot Middle School in Altadena. Approximately 50 deputies from Crescenta Valley, Altadena, Temple and Marina Del Rey Sheriff Stations participated.

Officers from the Pasadena Police Department and the fire fighters from Los Angeles County Fire Department worked together with deputies in several active shooter scenarios that simulated realistic problems involving an active shooter.

The training was conducted by the LASD Master Field Training Officers and was supported by Altadena Station Volunteers. Also on hand were Jail Custody Deputies and Explorers that acted as role players.

The object was to swiftly locate the active shooter(s) inside a location and neutralize that threat to protect the safety and lives of potential victims inside. L.A. County Fire Department trained along side deputies and officers where they entered the target location to rescue and remove the injured and brought them outside to a safe location for proper treatment for their injuries.
