Serving more than just a meal: Industry Station Captain Volunteers at Downtown LA Mission during Mother’s Day Festivities.

On Saturday, May 11, 2013, Captain Tim Murakami joined countless volunteers at the Fred Jordan Mission's annual Mother's Day event in Downtown Los Angeles. During this event, More than 3,000 mothers were pampered with makeovers, lunch, and special gifts which were served to them by the volunteers.



"Serving the community is more than just providing safety and security to the people" said Captain Murakami. "To me, serving the community means offering hope and providing support to those who need it when they need it, regardless of where they live in Los Angeles County."

Captain Murakami has volunteered his time at the mission for over 5 years; serving Los Angeles County residents in need.

About the Mission



Since 1944, the Fred Jones Mission began as an outreach program to the thousands of homeless men who wandered the postwar streets of Los Angeles has reached around the world. Now, Fred Jordan Missions serve the poor and helpless people, not only in the United States, but also in the teeming cities of Japan, Hong Kong and Korea, and in the cities and jungles of Ghana, and Liberia in West Africa.
