Walnut/Diamond Bar Station joins the Diamond Bar fight on Cancer with the Relay For Life

The American Cancer Society's Relay For Life of Diamond Bar was held Saturday and Sunday, June 8&9, at Lorbeer Middle School at 501 Diamond Bar Blvd. This is the second year the Walnut/Diamond Bar Sheriff's Station has participated with a team. The community event began with an opening ceremony at 9 a.m. Saturday to celebrate the lives of those who have battled Cancer, our survivor's.

A survivor's lap followed at 9:30 a.m. with Cancer survivors taking the first lap around the track to kick off the Relay. Team's then continually walk for the next 24 hours. A luminaria ceremony was held at 9 p.m. to remember people who have lost their battles to Cancer.

A Fight Back Ceremony concluded the event Sunday morning at 9 a.m. 16 teams, with over 200 participants, have raised more than $25,000 for research and patient services such as Road to Recovery, Hope Lodge and others.
