On Tuesday, August 6, 2013, the communities of La Crescenta, Montrose and La Canada Flintridge are being invited to join forces with thousands of communities nationwide for the 30th Annual National Night Out crime and drug prevention event. National Night Out, which is co-sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch (NATW) and co-sponsored locally by Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Crescenta Valley Station, will involve over 15,000 communities from all 50 states, U.S. territories, Canadian cities and Military bases around the world. In all, over 37 million people are expected to participate in "America's Night Out Against Crime."
National Night Out is designed to: (1) Heighten crime and drug prevention awareness; (2) Generate support for, and participation in, local anti-crime efforts; (3) Strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships; (4) Send a message to the criminals letting them know neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Crescenta Valley Station will be hosting its events at on Tuesday, August 6th, from 6-8 P.M. It will be held the parking lots of Ralph's Fresh Air Market in La Crescenta (2675 Foothill Boulevard at Rosemont Avenue).
The Los Angeles County Fire Department, California Highway Patrol and Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Department Personnel will be there to support National Night Out.
This is a free event for the public. We will be providing safety pamphlets, free child fingerprinting and lots of fun giveaways. Please come and support your local safety members and learn how to make our community safer by getting involved and letting the criminals know that we care and cherish our freedom and safety.
