On December 10, 2013, Gerry Linn Taylor, age 61, was arrested in connection with a commercial burglary in the City of Rolling Hills Estates. The burglary occurred during the evening hours from Thursday, December 5th to Friday, December 6th. Taylor had forced entry into the closed business and once inside, he pried open the cash register, stealing the money inside. The crime was captured on video.
Lomita Station Detective Peterson, a seasoned investigator, immediately recognized the suspect while reviewing the video. Detective Peterson added that he has been dealing with Taylor for over 20 years and the above crime was typical of Taylor's mode of operation. Taylor's prior thefts date back to 1979.
On December 12, 2013, Gerry Linn Taylor was arraigned in Torrance Court on charges of Commercial Burglary and Petty Theft with 3 or more prior convictions. He is being held without bail at the Inmate Reception Center, downtown Los Angeles.
