Montrose Search and Rescue gets its newest member!
On February 24, 2014, at 7:00 P.M., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department held its graduation of Reserve Academy Class # 130.
The graduation was held in the Board of Supervisors hearing room, at the Kenneth Hahn Hall of Administration.
27 recruits graduated from numerous agencies including the Los Angeles and Orange County Sheriff's department, Covina PD, El Camino PD, Hawthorne PD, La Verne PD, Long Beach Harbor Patrol, Port Hueneme PD, San Fernando PD, Ventura PD, and one non-affiliated. 14 Participating Agencies total, and 13 LASD.
One of the recruits was Reserve Deputy Colin Lievense from the Crescenta Valley Sheriff's Station. Reserve Deputy Lievense is now one of the newest members of the Montrose Search and Rescue team. He has been training with the team for some time, but was not able to be a full member until he graduated from the Reserve Sheriff's Academy. After 23 weeks of training at nights and the weekends, he graduated from the academy where all the recruits had over 91% grade average.
We are proud to have Colin as our newest member of not only the Montrose Search and Rescue Team, but also of our Crescenta Valley Sheriff's station family!
