Parks Bureau Deputies arrest probationer for guns and explosives
On February 18, 2014 at 9:30 am, deputies from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Parks Bureau Special Problems Team along with a Los Angeles County Probation Department officer conducted a probation search of a home adjacent to Ruben F. Salazar Park (3864 Whittier Boulevard, Los Angeles).
The deputies contacted the probationer Eduardo Camarena, male, Hispanic, 30 years of age, at his home in Los Angeles. During the search the team discovered suspect Camarena to be in possession of 40 explosive devises "M-250's", 25 pounds of illegal fireworks, 4 handguns and 2 bags of ammunition. A check on the handguns revealed one was stolen.
Eduardo Camarena was arrested for Ex-Felon in Possession of a Firearm, Ex-Felon in Possession of Ammunition, Possession of Explosive Device, Receiving Stolen Property, and Violation of Probation. He was booked at East Los Angeles Sheriff Station where he is being held in lieu of $90,000.00.
A detective from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Arson/Explosives Detail responded to the scene and took possession of the 40 explosive devises "M-250's".
An inspector from the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to the scene and took possession of the 25 pounds of illegal fireworks.
