Search Warrant Yields $3 million in Counterfeit Jewelry

On August 26, 2014, at approximately 12:00 pm, COPS Deputies assigned to the Counterfeit and Piracy Enforcement (CAPE) Team, served a search warrant on a known counterfeit suspect in the 500 block of Olympic Boulevard, Los Angeles. They were assisted by Special Agents from the Office of Homeland Security. The search warrant was the culmination of a month long investigation regarding the sales of counterfeit luxury goods throughout Los Angeles County. Deputies seized approximately $2 million in counterfeit "high end" name brand jewelry; including Cartier, Chanel, Tiffany and Company, Gucci, and Michael Kors.



After the initial detention and recovery of counterfeit merchandise, deputies responded to the suspect's residence in the 5500 block of Riverside Drive, Chino, which was also named in the warrant. Deputies recovered an additional $1 million of high end counterfeit jewelry. The suspect, a 46 year old male adult, was arrested on felony charges of possessing and selling counterfeit items. He was booked at the Los Angeles County Jail, and has a bail of $50,000.
