On Wednesday, August 27, 2014, Los Angeles County Supervisor Mark Ridley-Thomas hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to introduce the new Martin Luther King Jr. Mental Health Urgent Care Center, slated to open September 4, 2014. The Exodus Foundation for Recovery will operate the new center.
The newly refurbished two-story 8,000 sq. foot facility is located on the east side of the Martin Luther King Jr. campus, the latest addition to the Martin Luther King Jr. Medical Center Village. The center is a one stop shop for families, individuals and law enforcement to bring adults and juveniles suffering acute distress or an episode related to mental illness.
