Seven Arrested in LASD Parks Bureau Sting





On September 25, 2014, members of the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department Parks Bureau Special Problems Teams and Detective Unit, along with members of the Los Angeles County Probation Department and members of the United States Immigration Customs Enforcement, conducted a probation compliance operation at 18 locations in Los Angeles County. This operation was part of an ongoing effort to ensure a safety zone around Los Angeles County Parks, with the ongoing goal and effort of keeping them free of vandalism and gang activity. The operation focused on individuals who are on probation, reside near the parks, and are believed to be involved with groups who have committed vandalism within the parks.





Of the eighteen locations that were identified and had probationers living there, the following list of people who reside in the city of Los Angeles were arrested: Jorge Estaban Delelon a male Hispanic, 33 years old, was arrested for possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine and is being held on a $35,000 bail; Avila Bernardo Lopez Jr. a male Hispanic, 20 years old, was arrested for possession of stolen property and probation violation and is being held with no bail; Jerry Calixto Diaz a male Hispanic, 41 years old, was arrested for felon in possession of a firearm and is being held on a $35,000 bail; Jorge Antonio Zavaleta a male Hispanic , 27 years old, was arrested for probation violation and is being held with no bail; Jesus Alberto Rosas Jr. a male Hispanic, 31 years old, was arrested felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine for sales, and probation violation and is being held with no bail; Javier Rosas a male Hispanic, 19 years old, was arrested for probation violation and is being held with no bail; and Arturo Tarango a male Hispanic, 19 years old, was arrested for probation violation and is being held with no bail.







The compliance checks prove to be effective in insuring all the probationers comply with the terms and conditions of their probation and law. As a result of this compliance check, seven firearms were seized from the probationers' residences and two of the firearms were found to be stolen.
