Deputies from the Lost Hills Sheriff's Station and personnel from the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Crime Lab facilitated the first CSI Camp of the year. Teens ranging in ages from 10 to 14 received hands-on training on how to collect and secure evidence, dust for fingerprints, cast shoe prints, administer a lie detector test, and conduct interviews.
The teens get to solve crime scenes by conducting a full investigation terminating with booking the suspect into custody at the Lost Hills Sheriff Station. This educational camp allows teens to learn how reall Crime Scene Investigators work and gives them an opportunity to see all the resources used in processing scenes for evidence.
The Los Angeles County Sheriff's CSI Camp is offered for young teens between July 30 and August 30 (Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.) and is held at the Agoura Hills Recreation Center site, located at 29900 Ladyface Court in Agoura Hills. The fee is $125, which includes an official CSI t-shirt and identification.
