Palmdale Deputies discover a sophisticated Marijuana Cultivation Operation.

A Marijuana Cultivation Operation was discovered by Palmdale Sheriff's Deputies in Littlerock Tuesday evening.

Deputies working patrol in the Littlerock area smelled the strong odor of Marijuana coming from a location in the area of 8000 block of East Avenue T.

Deputies began to investigate when 20 year-old Littlerock resident Jose Gamez, walked outside of the house and approached the deputies. Gamez gave deputies consent to search the home.

While searching the residence deputies found a loaded firearm and a Marijuana cultivation operation consisting of 330 mature marijuana plants in the back bedroom of the residence. It consisted of an intricate watering, ventilation and artificial lighting system. The marijuana was just days from being harvested. Narcotics Detectives seized approximately 330 pounds of Marijuana with an estimated street value of $330,000.

Gamez was transported to Palmdale Sheriff's Station where he was booked on charges of Cultivation of Marijuana, Receiving Stolen Property and Theft of Public Utilities with a bail amount of $50,000. Gamez is scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday December 20th at the Antelope Valley Court House.

The investigation is being handled by the Palmdale Sheriff's Station Narcotics Bureau.
