Gunfire leads to arrest

At approximately 5:00 AM this morning, detectives assigned to the South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station served a search warrant at a home located in the 11900 Block of Cedar Avenue in the City of Hawthorne and arrested Ricardo Noyola for the attempted murder of the boyfriend of his ex-wife's sister.

Suspect Noyola's arrest stemmed from an incident that took place early Thursday evening wherein he allegedly drove by the victim's home in the City of Lawndale and fired at least two shots at him as he stood in his front yard.

The victim was not struck by the gunfire and it is unknown what prompted Suspect Noyola to allegedly shoot at him. A 9mm semi-automatic handgun believed to be used in this crime was recovered at the time of Suspect Noyola's arrest.

Suspect Noyola was booked at South Los Angeles Sheriff's Station on the charge of attempted murder. His bail was set at one million dollars.
